Crucial to breastfeeding success is the support of your family, professionals, and other breastfeeding mothers sharing their own personal experience! We encourage women, before and after giving birth, to reach out for help, ask questions, and receive friendly reminders of the difference you are making in the life of your baby by breastfeeding. The Breastfeeding Coalition regularly updates listings on the resources available in Palm Beach County (please email info@pbcbreastfeeding.org for inclusion/updates to our listings):
International Board Certified Lactation Consultants (IBCLC)
Certified by the International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiners, IBCLCs are allied health care providers who, by meeting eligibility requirDements and certifying by passing an independent examination, possess the necessary skills, knowledge and attitudes to facilitate breastfeeding.
Services may include home/office/hospital consults, electric pump rentals, sale of breastfeeding aids, breastfeeding classes, and professional in-services. Low cost or no fee may be available for those who qualify.
La Leche League (LLL)
La Leche League is an international organization whose mission is “to help mothers worldwide to breastfeed through mother-to-mother support, encouragement, information, and education, and to promote a better understanding of breastfeeding as an important element in the healthy development of the baby and mother”. La Leche League Leaders are experienced mothers who have breastfed their own babies and who have been trained and accredited
by La Leche League International to help mothers and mothers-to-be with all aspects of breastfeeding. They are available by phone whenever you have breastfeeding questions or concerns.
All breastfeeding mothers and mothers-to-be interested in breastfeeding are welcome to attend monthly meetings held at different locations around the county, or call a Leader for breastfeeding help or information.

WIC (Women, Infants and Children)
Free Childbirth classes and breastfeeding support is available to those who qualify for WIC.
Hospital Lactation Centers
Local hospitals offer breastfeeding classes for women before delivery, consultation during and after your stay,
and breast pump sales/rental services.
Breast Pump Retailers
Breast pumps are available for sale or rent by hospital lactation centers, medical supply/drug stores,
baby stores, and IBCLCs.
The Breastfeeding Coalition of Palm Beach County is proud to have initiated a “library project” to donate additional titles to the PBC Library system that would help support breastfeeding families.
